KIDS | TWEEN | TEEN CLASSES
Build a foundation! Study composition, perspective, proportion, color theory, and values while creating still lifes, landscapes, portraiture, figure drawing, and more. Talk about art concepts with demonstrations and step-by-step lessons to gain an understanding of what makes strong drawings and paintings.
Draw with detail. Learn the fundamentals of drawing using graphite, charcoal powders, toned paper, and Conté pencil to explore topics and gain skills. In this relaxed class, learn key skills through in-depth demonstrations. Practice drawing different types of fabric texture and patterns as well as metallic and glass objects. Students will also draw a live, clothed model.
This class is for students looking to take the next step in developing their skills and artistic training. The first part of the class will focus on exercises in charcoal and graphite of various subjects (including drawing from clothed models) focusing on texture, form, proportion and value. This is the perfect class for students looking to create a strong portfolio for either a college or academic program. Each week students will create a work of art in a variety of media such as charcoal, pencil, watercolor, acrylic, and even sculpture. By the end of the semester students will have 7–10 pieces that they can use toward their portfolio, along with the knowledge of how to photograph and present their work in a cohesive way.
With an emphasis on artistic individuality, your teen will build a solid drawing and painting foundation through demonstrations and experimentations. Students will develop their own styles and, at the same time, learn fundamentals of drawing and painting by exploring color and shadow to create still lifes, portraits, and more. Students will have the opportunity to work from a clothed model.
Advance your drawing and painting techniques using graphite, charcoal, and oil paint. Students will work on still lifes, drawing from a model, perspective, color, and composition.
